AV Design Engineer (Video Walls)

Design end-to-end AV solutions, with a primary focus on large-format video wall systems, LED walls, LCD arrays, and multi-display configurations. Develop detailed system schematics, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and layout drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software. Specify all AV components including processors, controllers, displays, signal distribution, network switches, mounts, control systems, cabling, and power requirements. Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to interpret client requirements and translate them into technical designs and budgets. Perform system calculations such as pixel density, viewing distance, brightness, aspect ratios, heat loads, and electrical needs. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards including AVIXA, NEC, ADA, and manufacturer specifications. Work closely with project managers and installation teams to support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and change control during implementation. Review site conditions and conduct on-site assessments as needed to confirm mounting structure, room conditions, and installation feasibility. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs), engineering submittals, and technical documentation. Stay up to date on emerging video wall technologies, processors, control systems, and AV networking trends.
