Job Highlights Role: Frontend Architect (Individual Contributor) Experience: 8 10 years (23+ years in Architecture/Staff role) Domain: Media, Content, & Commerce Super-App Key Tech Stack: React Native, React, TypeScript, Design Systems, Cross-Platform Architecture Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Delhi About the Role At BigFM, we are building a next-generation media super-app that unifies video, audio, radio, micro-drama, news, and commerce onto a single platform. We are hiring a Frontend Architect to own the technical architecture and long-term technical vision for our entire frontend and mobile surface spanning our React Native consumer application, admin portals, CMS, and unified design system. This is a foundational, individual-contributor (IC) technical leadership role. You will define how a single codebase and design system scales across six content and commerce verticals, setting the architectural guardrails that our Frontend Engineering team will build against. Key Responsibilities Architecture Ownership: Define and own the end-to-end frontend and mobile technical architecture across the React Native app, Admin Portal, CMS, and internal tooling. Design System & Scalability: Establish and evolve the shared Design System and component library used consistently across all frontend surfaces. Technical Standards: Set code quality bars, architectural guardrails, module boundaries, and engineering best practices for the team. Core Technology Decisions: Drive foundational choices around state management, navigation, build/release pipelines, and cross-platform performance to keep engineers interchangeable across mobile, web, and admin surfaces. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Backend Architect and Platform Engineers to define clean API contracts (REST/GraphQL) and integration patterns. Roadmap Execution: Partner with the Tech Lead to translate architectural direction into deliverable engineering roadmaps. Technical Quality & Debt: Conduct high-impact architecture and code reviews; own performance, scalability, and tech debt strategy as the platform scales. Innovation & Tooling: Continuously evaluate and adopt modern technologies, tools, and practices that improve velocity, maintainability, and developer experience. Desired Candidate Profile Mandatory Qualifications: 810 years of overall frontend/mobile engineering experience, with at least 23 years in a formal Architecture, Staff, or Principal Engineer capacity. Deep React Native Expertise: Hands-on mastery of React Native at production scale, along with modern React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. System Design: Proven track record of architecting scalable frontend systems serving multiple surfaces/products from shared codebases or design systems. Mobile Performance: In-depth understanding of mobile performance optimization, state management patterns, and cross-platform trade-offs. Technical Leadership: Highly comfortable operating as a hands-on IC, driving impact through technical authority, mentorship, and clarity rather than direct management. Communication: Exceptional ability to document, articulate, and evangelize complex architectural decisions to engineers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in high-growth, 01 startup environments building consumer-facing products. Hands-on experience in media, audio/video streaming, or content-commerce super-apps. Familiarity with backend API design (REST/GraphQL) to enable solid full-stack contract conversations. Experience with CI/CD, build performance optimization, and release engineering for mobile apps (App Store / Play Store pipelines). .
