About the role
As a Caps & Closures Designer at Leo Precision Pvt Ltd, your role will involve designing PET and PP cap and closure moulds that meet high performance, durability, and manufacturability standards. You will be responsible for developing 2D and 3D design concepts, creating detailed drawings, and preparing design documentation according to customer specifications and industry norms. Collaboration with tooling, production, quality, and R&D teams is essential to optimize mould design for cycle time, material efficiency, and reliability. Your daily tasks will include revising designs based on feedback, conducting design feasibility checks, supporting trials and validation, and resolving design-related issues during manufacturing. Your contribution to continuous improvement initiatives, staying updated on materials and mould technologies, and providing technical support to customers when needed will be crucial. Key Responsibilities: - Develop 2D and 3D design concepts for caps, closures, and precision components - Create detailed drawings and design documentation in alignment with customer requirements - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mould design for efficiency and reliability - Revise designs based on feedback and conduct design feasibility checks - Support trials, validation, and troubleshooting of design-related manufacturing issues - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on materials and mould technologies Qualifications: - Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design software (e.g., Creo) for caps, closures, and precision components - Hands-on experience in mould design, especially for PET/PP preforms, caps, closures, or related plastic components - Good understanding of hot runner systems, plastic materials, injection moulding processes, and design-for-manufacturability principles - Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements to develop production-ready designs - Strong problem-solving skills to analyze design issues, suggest improvements, and support root-cause analysis - Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams - Diploma or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or a related technical field - Attention to detail, good documentation practices, and ability to manage multiple design projects and deadlines Leo Precision Pvt Ltd, founded in 2010, is a trusted manufacturer of high-performance PET and PP hot runner moulds catering to global beverage, packaging, and FMCG industries.
