User Experience Development Test Engineer

What you will be doing:

Validate the exterior marketability of vehicles to meet model-specific targets with a goal of meeting or exceeding the Clients customer expectations.

Take an active role in overseeing testing activities to gather full vehicle computational and physical testing results for exterior systems.

Develop countermeasures through cross-functional collaboration with all stakeholders when performance concerns arise during virtual or physical validation of assigned areas, ensuring solutions meet performance, business, and project needs.

Produce and analyze engineering data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats; involves working independently.

Plan, prepare, and coordinate various aspects of exterior performance tests, including arrangement of facilities, requesting technician support, and acquiring testing materials.

Physically support tests, including confirmation that test setups are correct and that test plans are understood and executed to intent.

Prepare moderately complex documentation for review by technical leadership to record and submit all necessary development, testing, and research information per the determined schedule.

Help coordinate and execute root cause analysis, countermeasure activities, and improvement initiatives for technical leadership.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Essential:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 0-6 years of engineering experience based on education; co-op and internship experience included.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate concerns and ideas through a remote work environment.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience in data analysis and communication of complex information to engineering management.

  • Experience with 3D CAD surface modeling software such as CATIA or SolidWorks.

  • Experience with data acquisition software.

  • Experience with FEA software such as Abaqus, Nastran, Hypermesh, Ansa, Meta, or LS-DYNA.

  • Experience with scripting in Java, Python, or MATLAB.
