As a Senior Lead Engineer at Levi Strauss & Co., you will play a crucial role in transforming the retail experience through cutting-edge technology by developing advanced solutions that utilize RFID technology and AI-enabled workflows to optimize inventory management and in-store processes. Your responsibilities will include: - Offering technical expertise and thought leadership to support the company's strategy and transformation into a world-class, AI-forward retailer - Collaborating with Product teams and engineers to develop intelligent applications that enhance consumer experiences and boost revenue - Communicating complex technical and AI-driven solutions in clear, business-friendly language - Working with Business, Product, and IT leadership to identify challenges and opportunities for automation and agentic workflows - Leading a team of engineers to design scalable solutions for tracking inventory, automating store processes, and providing real-time and predictive insights using RFID and AI Qualifications required for this role include: - 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development and 3+ years as a technical lead - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline - Previous experience in retail or e-commerce domain, building solutions with cross-functional teams - Exposure to AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs (Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar), or agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, or similar) is a strong plus - RFID exposure preferred; experience with GCP preferred - Builder mindset with a growth path toward broader architectural leadership In addition to the above, you will be responsible for designing and implementing end-to-end microservices and cloud-native solutions on GCP, building mobile and web applications, embedding agentic AI capabilities into inventory workflows, and integrating LLM-based tooling and AI agents into backend services. You will also conduct detailed analysis of requirements, manage multiple projects independently, and guide automated and self-service solutions to decrease incident resolution times. Furthermore, your role will involve stakeholder management, maintaining comprehensive documentation, setting guidelines and governance for code reviews, and leading and mentoring other team members. You will work within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) across globally distributed teams, showcasing your proficiency in Java, Python, Node.js, or similar technologies, along with strong GCP cloud deployment experience.
