Java Software Engineer

In this role at Light & Wonder, you will be a part of the LnW Digital team, working as a Java Software Engineer in ITPL Whitefield, Bangalore. Your primary responsibility will be to design and maintain applications for the next generation casino platform. As an experienced individual with 3-4 years of experience, you will play a key role in leading technical discussions, providing technical advice, and ensuring best practices in software development. Key Responsibilities: - Designing and developing functionality based on existing coding standards or patterns - Writing unit and integration tests for your own code - Contributing to code reviews on team-written code - Designing or altering complex database schema and queries - Maintaining documentation for the products you work on - Providing technical coaching for less experienced engineers - Collaborating with architects and technical leads to define requirements and designs - Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in the software - Serving as the primary contact for day-to-day technical issues - Offering input for project/product cost estimation process Qualifications Required: - Excellent knowledge of Java programming language (8/11) and Spring Boot - Disciplined approach to testing - Experience and knowledge of software design patterns - Strong communication skills, both written and spoken - Experience with Java Spring Framework and Spring Boot - Exposure to Continuous Deployment and Integration tools (Jenkins, Docker, etc) - Experience in reviewing others' work for performance, security, efficiency, and portability - Comfortable leading technical discussions with customers - Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills Must-Have: - Java 8 or Java 11 with good knowledge of OOPS principles, data structures, exception handling, Java APIs, collections framework, generics - Unit Testing - Junit / Mockito - Spring Framework - Spring Core, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC - Database - PostgreSQL/MySQL - Build Tools - Maven - GitHub Good to Have (Basic Knowledge): - Docker - Concurrency/multithreading - AWS Cloud Platform - CI/CD - Jenkins - Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ - Security Protocols - OAuth2.0, JWT In this role at Light & Wonder, you will be a part of the LnW Digital team, working as a Java Software Engineer in ITPL Whitefield, Bangalore.
