About the role
Role Overview: As an experienced Azure Data Engineer in a fully remote contract role for 6 months in India, your main focus will be to support a growing analytics platform and scale modern data pipelines in a cloud-first environment. You will be responsible for building reliable data foundations that enable reporting, modeling, and business insights. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain scalable data pipelines in Azure - Ingest and transform data from multiple enterprise systems, including ERP sources - Implement data processing across Medallion architecture layers (Bronze/Silver/Gold) - Optimize performance, reliability, and data quality across the platform - Collaborate closely with data modelers and analysts to deliver analytics-ready datasets - Support downstream reporting and dashboarding use cases Qualifications Required: - Strong experience as a Data Engineer in Azure environments - Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse, or similar - Proficiency in SQL and data transformation - Experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines for analytics workloads - Understanding of data modeling and collaboration with BI teams - Experience working with ERP data, with knowledge of Oracle ERP being a plus - Comfortable working in a collaborative, remote team environment Additional Company Details: This role is best suited for individuals who enjoy building clean, scalable pipelines and enabling the business to trust and utilize their data effectively.
