As a Database Administrator at Programmers.io India Pvt. Ltd., you will be joining our established DBA team to support a diverse, enterprise-scale database environment in the retail industry. Your role will involve ensuring the availability, performance, and security of data systems that drive our stores, e-commerce operations, supply chain, and corporate functions. You will collaborate with a team of DBAs and leverage your expertise while expanding your skills across various platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Support and maintain enterprise database environments on mainframe, Windows server, AIX, and Linux. - Utilize your expertise in IBMi DB2 on z/OS. - Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning. - Effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and standard Office tools. - Manage retail-specific data workloads such as point-of-sale systems, inventory management, customer data, and reporting/analytics pipelines. - Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, and tooling within the DBA team. Qualifications Required: - Experience in mainframe database environments, particularly IBM DB2 on z/OS. - Proficiency in relational databases, SQL, and data modeling. - Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and team members. - Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and standard Office tools. - Knowledge of supporting retail-specific data workloads.
