As a Senior Robotics Engineer specializing in Simulation & Autonomous Systems, you will be responsible for architecting and constructing advanced simulation and digital twin systems for large-scale autonomous platforms. Your primary focus will be on developing high-fidelity virtual environments that accurately replicate real-world marine conditions and vehicle behavior. By doing so, you will facilitate rapid testing, validation, and iteration of autonomy algorithms in a controlled setting, thereby reducing the dependency on costly and time-consuming field trials. Key Responsibilities: - Develop high-fidelity simulation environments for marine conditions such as currents, waves, and acoustics. - Build and maintain digital twin systems for autonomous underwater vehicles. - Model vehicle physics encompassing hydrodynamics, buoyancy, and 6-DOF motion. - Create realistic sensor simulations including sonar, LiDAR, IMU, and cameras. - Optimize simulation systems for real-time or faster-than-real-time performance. - Integrate simulation with ROS-based autonomy stacks. - Enable Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing. - Design validation frameworks to correlate simulation versus real-world performance. Required Qualifications: - Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. - 5+ years of experience in robotics simulation, modeling, or digital twin systems. - Strong programming skills in C++. - Experience with simulation engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, NVIDIA Isaac, or similar. - Solid understanding of physics, linear algebra, and numerical methods. - Experience with ROS/ROS2 integration. - Hands-on experience in physics-based simulation. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in marine/underwater simulation or hydrodynamics. - Knowledge of autonomous systems, control systems, or validation frameworks. - Experience with GPU/parallel computing. - Familiarity with sonar/acoustic modeling. - Exposure to NVIDIA Omniverse/Isaac Sim. - Contributions to open-source or research publications in robotics. In addition to the above, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge autonomous systems with real-world impact, accelerate development through advanced simulation technologies, and solve complex engineering challenges at the intersection of robotics and physics. Moreover, there is potential for growth into a technical leadership role accompanied by competitive compensation and health insurance.
