As a highly experienced Senior SQL Server & Postgres DBA, you will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise database platforms across on-premise and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Your role will primarily focus on Microsoft SQL Server, requiring strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL and exposure to modern cloud-native database services. Key Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end SQL Server DBA operations across development, test, and production environments - Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance - Lead performance tuning efforts including execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization - Implement and support HA/DR solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, replication, clustering, and log shipping - Troubleshoot production issues including blocking, deadlocks, IO bottlenecks, and performance degradation - Administer databases on Azure SQL, Managed Instances, AWS RDS, and relevant GCP managed database services - Support high availability, scaling, failover, and backup strategies across cloud environments - Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity across cloud deployments - Work on hybrid database connectivity across on-prem and cloud environments - Provide hands-on support and administration of PostgreSQL databases across environments - Work with PostgreSQL in both self-managed and cloud-managed platforms (RDS / Azure PostgreSQL / Aurora PostgreSQL) - Have exposure to MySQL / MariaDB environments and ability to support operational activities - Be familiar with cloud-native databases such as Aurora, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB, Cassandra or equivalent platforms - Ability to work across relational and non-relational database technologies as part of modern data platforms - Support on-prem to cloud database migrations across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms - Participate in database re-platforming and modernization initiatives - Assist in cross-database migration scenarios (SQL Server PostgreSQL / others) - Ensure data consistency, performance stability, and minimal downtime during migrations Qualifications Required: - 810+ years of strong SQL Server DBA experience - Min 6+ years of hands-on working experience with PostgreSQL - Proven expertise in performance tuning, HA/DR, and production system management - Min 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or other managed database platforms - Exposure to MySQL / MariaDB and modern cloud-native databases - Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scripting skills In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, the role demands strong ownership of critical systems and the ability to adapt to evolving database platforms across relational and non-relational ecosystems. You will also be required to own day-to-day production database operations for mission-critical systems, monitor database health, performance trends, and capacity utilization, and participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).
