zOS System Programming Shift: 05:30 PM to 02:30 AM (IST) Location: Chennai / Bangalore / Hyderabad Work Type: Hybrid / Remote Total Experience: 15+ Years Relavent Experience: 12+ Years We are seeking a highly experienced z/OS System Programmer to lead mainframe system programming initiatives, ensuring stability, performance, and continuous modernization of enterprise z/OS environments. The role demands strong technical depth combined with leadership capabilities to drive service excellence, automation, and operational transformation. Key Responsibilities Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership Own end-to-end z/OS platform architecture, stability, and service deliveryProvide deep technical leadership across MVS, JES2, Sysplex, and LPAR environmentsGovern HCD/IODF configurations ensuring scalability and complianceLead performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization initiativesMaintenance, Upgrades & Lifecycle Management Define and execute z/OS upgrade strategy and RSU maintenance roadmapEstablish and govern SMP/E processes and standardsLead ISV product lifecycle management, including upgrades and vendor coordinationEnsure standardized, secure, and compliant platform managementIncident Management & RCA Leadership Act as escalation point for Sev1/Sev2 incidentsLead end-to-end Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventive action planningDrive proactive monitoring and reduce repeat incidentsEnsure SLA adherence and operational excellenceDisaster Recovery & Resilience Define and lead Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy and executionConduct DR drills, failover testing, and validationStrengthen Sysplex-based high-availability designEnsure business continuity readiness for critical workloadsAutomation & Transformation Drive adoption of automation frameworks and system-level automationIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effortLead transformation aligned to Kyndryl Bridge / AIOps initiativesEnable predictive and self-healing operations where applicableCustomer & Stakeholder Engagement Act as trusted technical advisor to clientsLead discussions on stability, modernization, and risk managementSupport solutioning, proposals, and business growth initiatives Required Technical Skills Strong expertise in z/OS System ProgrammingIn-depth knowledge of MVS and JES2 architectureExtensive experience with Sysplex environments and LPAR managementHands-on expertise in HCD / IODF configuration and maintenanceProficiency in SMP/E for software installation, maintenance, and patch managementStrong experience in z/OS Upgrades and RSU Maintenance planning and executionExpertise in ISV Product Maintenance, including upgrades and vendor coordinationOperational & Leadership Skills Proven experience in Incident Management (Sev1/Sev2 handling)Strong capability in leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing preventive actionsHands-on experience in Disaster Recovery (DR) support, including planning and executionDemonstrated experience in Automation to improve operational efficiency and reliabilityExperience & Qualifications 1215+ years of experience in z/OS system programmingExperience managing large enterprise mainframe environmentsExposure to multi-client / global delivery modelsITIL certification preferredDomain experience in Banking / Insurance is an advantageContractor Request Number of Positions .
