About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer within the LSEG RISK Intelligence Technology group, you will be responsible for analyzing, defining, designing, constructing, testing, installing, modifying, and maintaining properly engineered information systems to meet agreed business needs. You will work on key products such as Connected Risk, World Check, and products in the Risk Managed Services space. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code based on user requirements. - Develop high-quality software using agile methodologies and adhering to team/company standards. - Participate in planning sessions to analyze requirements, provide design options, and estimates of work. - Focus on quality by conducting unit testing, integration testing, and peer reviews to ensure software meets requirements. - Document, review, and maintain technical reference material for supportability and reuse. - Actively participate in team status meetings, providing timely updates for individual responsibilities within projects. Key Relationships: - Development Manager / Development Team Lead. - Business Analysts. - Agile team members. Qualifications Required: - 3-6 years of experience as an expert software engineer with strong knowledge in AWS, Java language, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate. - Proficiency in implementing object-oriented programming and familiarity with various design patterns. - Experience with Unit Testing, Test Driven Development, databases, SQL, security implications, and secure coding. - Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to write clean, readable code and reusable Java libraries. - Proficient in using source code management tools such as Github. - Experience in a formal agile software development lifecycle. Desired Skills/Experience: - Experience with API interfaces. - Understanding of multithreading. - Familiarity with Cloud technologies (AWS).
