About the role
As a skilled Rust Developer at Lumel, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Rust. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Rust - Building high-performance, low-latency, and scalable systems - Developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures - Optimizing application performance, memory usage, and concurrency handling - Collaborating with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and product teams - Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code - Implementing unit tests, integration tests, and ensuring code quality - Participating in code reviews and technical design discussions - Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems To qualify for this role, you should have: - 23 years of professional software development experience - 23 years of hands-on experience with Rust - Experience with async programming (Tokio, async/await) - Good understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and memory safety - Experience building REST APIs and backend services - Basic knowledge of microservices architecture - Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) - Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments - Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Preferred qualifications include: - Experience with Actix Web, Rocket, or Axum frameworks - Basic understanding of distributed systems concepts - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) - Exposure to data processing systems or analytics platforms - Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) - Interest in performance tuning and system-level optimization Education: - Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) About Lumel: Lumel is a leading provider of enterprise performance management and embedded analytics solutions.
