Principal Engineer, Private Equity Solutions

Role Overview: You will be leading the design and delivery of a modern analytics and valuation platform used in Private Equity and financial valuations. Your role will involve combining hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and domain-driven design to build scalable, data-intensive solutions supporting complex ownership structures, valuation models, and investment analytics. As a Technical Team Lead, you will play a crucial part in bridging engineering excellence with financial domain expertise by collaborating closely with product, valuation professionals, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a cross-functional engineering team encompassing backend, frontend, and data aspects. - Take ownership of system architecture and technical design decisions. - Establish engineering standards related to code quality, performance, security, and scalability. - Mentor engineers and conduct technical reviews to ensure adherence to standards. - Drive the implementation of best practices in CI/CD, testing, and observability. - Design and implement backend services using .NET (C#). - Develop modern, user-centric interfaces using React. - Design and optimize Graph Database models to represent complex ownership, fund, and valuation relationships. - Ensure high performance querying and analytics over interconnected financial data. - Collaborate on API design including REST and GraphQL. - Work closely with Private Equity and Valuation experts, Business Analysts, and SME's to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Participate in data modeling for ownership structures, financial instruments, and valuation methodologies. - Support data accuracy, transparency, and auditability. Qualifications Required: Technical Skills: - 10+ years of hands-on experience in .NET Full Stack development. - 4+ years of experience managing development teams in a Team Lead position. - 3+ years of experience delivering UI solutions using the React framework. - Proven expertise with Graph Databases including Cypher, Gremlin, graph modeling, and traversal algorithms. - Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases. - Strong grasp of software architecture patterns. - Experience in people management. - Proficiency in working with cloud environments, preferably AWS. - Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and modern software engineering practices. Leadership Skills: - Proven experience in leading engineering teams. - Ability to balance hands-on development with leadership responsibilities. - Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Business Skills: - Experience in Private Equity, Asset Management, Valuations, or Financial Analytics. - Knowledge of financial modeling or valuation concepts such as DCF, multiples, and NAV. Additional Details: The job requires experience in data-intensive or real-time processing environments, a background in data visualization or analytical platforms, and exposure to regulatory or audit-related systems are considered nice-to-have skills for this role.
