About the role
As a Lead LED Technical Specialist (NovaStar Expert), you will play a crucial role in overseeing the deployment of large-scale LED display systems from end-to-end. Your primary responsibilities will include advanced configuration and management of NovaStar control systems, on-site installation supervision, troubleshooting complex technical issues, as well as project and staff management. Key Responsibilities: - NovaStar System Configuration & Management - Perform advanced configuration of NovaStar control systems such as MCTRL, NovaPro, Taurus Series. - Map and configure LED receiving cards and sending boxes using NovaLCT and SmartLCT. - Execute screen calibration, brightness adjustment, and color consistency matching. - Manage cloud-based publishing and monitoring via VNNOX. - On-Site Installation & Supervision - Lead the physical assembly of LED cabinets, ensuring structural integrity and precise alignment. - Supervise cabling (power and data) for proper grounding and signal redundancy. - Direct and manage on-site staff and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion. - Troubleshooting & Technical Support - Diagnose and resolve complex issues like signal loss, flickering, module failures, and communication errors. - Provide 'on-call' emergency support for high-priority installations, such as live events or digital out-of-home advertising. - Perform component-level repairs when necessary, like replacing ICs or addressing soldering mask issues. - Project & Staff Management - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the installation phase. - Train junior technicians and clients on basic system operation and maintenance. - Maintain detailed site reports, inventory logs, and 'as-built' documentation. Qualifications Required: - Technical Qualifications - Software: Expertise in NovaLCT, SmartLCT, and VNNOX. - Hardware: Deep understanding of LED modules, HUB boards, power supplies, and sending/receiving cards. - Video Protocol: Proficiency in HDMI, DVI, SDI, and Fiber Optic signal transmission. - Networking: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnets, and remote desktop tools for troubleshooting. - Experience: 35 years of hands-on experience in LED video wall integration. Preferred Skills (The 'Bonus' List): - Certifications: Possession of NovaStar Certified Engineer (NCE) status is highly advantageous. - Physical Stamina: Ability to work at heights (scaffolding/lifts) and lift heavy equipment. - Soft Skills: Ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly during live event 'crunch time.'
