Overhead Line CAD Technician

As an experienced Overhead Line CAD Technician at M Group Energy (Overhead Lines), your role will involve providing technical drafting expertise to support engineering and infrastructure projects. You will play a crucial role in creating, updating, and managing CAD drawings and design documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with drawing standards. Your responsibilities will include translating technical information into precise drawings, supporting engineers and designers, and organizing design information for high-quality deliverables. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical drafting expertise for CAD drawings and design documentation - Create and manage CAD outputs to support engineers and designers - Maintain drawing standards and ensure high-quality design deliverables - Support surveys, organize design information, and coordinate with project teams Qualifications Required: - Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience as a CAD Technician in the Overhead Lines industry - Proven track record in completing drawings for overhead line design - Competent user of AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD drafting software - Ability to produce accurate drawings with minimal supervision - Awareness of engineering design processes, drawing standards, and quality requirements - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple drawing tasks concurrently - Competence in Microsoft Office and technical information management - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Desirable Skills: - Experience in steelwork detailing of overhead line structures in software like BoCAD or Tekla Structures - Familiarity with mapping software such as ArcGIS - Understanding of BIM and additional software like Civil 3D, Revit, or Autodesk Inventor - Knowledge of design standards, CAD conventions, and engineering terminology In this role, your analytical thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, planning & organization, communication, and problem-solving skills will be essential for successful performance.
