As a practical, creative, and extremely talented hands-on senior Chemist, Material Scientist, or Chemical Engineer, you will be joining the applications development team at MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions. Your role as the Sr. Application Engineer will involve providing local, site-specific support for product development functions. Here are the key responsibilities you will be handling: - Conducting wet chemistry and electroplating experiments to support the development and optimization of semiconductor plating technologies, including damascene, wafer-level packaging, and compound semiconductor applications. - Designing and executing experiments (DoE) to evaluate new and existing formulations, analyzing results, and providing technical recommendations. - Generating technical data, reports, and application insights to support product development, customer engagement, and marketing activities. - Collaborating with customers and internal teams to support product qualification, commercialization, and scale-up activities. - Leading or contributing to technical projects with clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables. - Participating in safety initiatives, process improvement efforts, and problem-solving activities within cross-functional teams. - Maintaining laboratory equipment, staying current with emerging technologies, methods, and industry trends. - Communicating technical information effectively to customers, engineers, sales teams, and other stakeholders. - Fostering a strong safety culture while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In terms of qualifications, you should possess: - A bachelors or masters degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field. - 3-5 years of related experience working in chemistry laboratories, preferably in plating industries. Your competencies should include: - Wet chemistry and process execution skills, including the preparation and handling of chemical plating solutions, safe handling of acids and metal salts, and good data interpretation. - Expertise in electrochemical deposition, particularly in copper electroplating processes and metallization systems. - Strong communication skills for professional and responsible interactions with internal and external customers. - Creativity for planning, executing, and reporting on complex projects, along with collaborative problem-solving. - Results orientation with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects diligently. - Collaboration skills to effectively work towards objectives and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
