About the role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer Manager at our company, you will be leading the mechanical design team responsible for robots, mobile platforms, manipulators, inspection systems, defence equipment, and custom special purpose machines. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design of robotic systems, special purpose machines, manipulators, fixtures, jigs, enclosures, structures, and automation equipment. - Prepare complete 3D models, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and assembly drawings. - Design mechanisms involving motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, linear motion, linkages, belts, chains, actuators, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems. - Take ownership of mechanical design for projects such as UGVs, EOD and surveillance robots, inspection robots, telescopic manipulators, AI-based inspection machines, etc. - Lead and guide junior mechanical engineers, interns, and CAD designers. - Coordinate with fabrication, machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, bending, welding, and surface treatment vendors. - Prepare and maintain design documents, BOMs, manufacturing drawings, assembly manuals, test reports, and project documentation. - Ensure mechanical designs meet safety, reliability, and field usability requirements. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or Fusion 360. - Experience in machine design, robotics, automation, or SPM. - Good understanding of sheet metal design, machining, fabrication, welding, bearings and shafts, motors and gearboxes, pneumatics/hydraulics, tolerances and fits, GD&T basics, DFM/DFA. - Ability to prepare proper manufacturing and assembly drawings. - Ability to create accurate BOMs with make, model, quantity, and specification. - Basic FEA knowledge will be an added advantage. Experience Required: - Minimum: 2-6 years - Preferred: 3-8 years in robotics, automation, industrial machines, SPM, defence products, or machine design. Qualification: - B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Production Engineering, or related field. - Diploma holders with exceptional hands-on design and machine-building experience may also be considered.
