Talent Profile Position Title: Software Engineer Location: Bangalore Reporting To: Engineering Manager Department: Software Development Centre - Engineering Objective: We are seeking a Software Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) and foundational exposure to Azure and GCP. The role includes supporting cloud environments, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, monitoring production systems, contributing to Infrastructure as Code, and enabling modern workloads including data, AI/ML, and GenAI integrations. The engineer will work closely with development teams using our existing toolchain (Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes on EKS, CloudFormation) and is expected to bring an SRE and security-first mindset to production support. Accountability: Cloud Infrastructure & Operations Deploy and manage AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda). Basic exposure to Azure services such as Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, and Virtual Networks. Awareness of GCP services and ability to support hybrid/multi-cloud workloads when required Assist in Auto Scaling and high-availability configurations across multiple Availability Zones. Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation (Terraform exposure is a plus). Database & Data Handling Work with AWS RDS (MySQL/Aurora) and basic database operations. FinOps & Cost Optimization Monitor AWS resource usage and identify optimization opportunities. Implement tagging strategies for cost allocation and chargeback. Configure budgets, alerts, and anomaly detection (AWS Budgets, Cost Explorer). Implement lifecycle policies (S3 to Glacier), rightsizing, Reserved Instances / Savings Plans awareness, and cleanup tasks. Basic awareness of Azure cost management tools and FinOps principles. Competencies: Cloud & Containers Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda). Basic knowledge of Azure cloud platform; awareness of GCP. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred), including Helm. Working knowledge of CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code. Source Control & Collaboration Hands-on experience with Bitbucket (Git workflows, pull requests, branching strategies). Comfortable using Jira for issue tracking, sprint work, and incident management. Confluence (or similar) for documentation and runbooks. Programming / Scripting Basic proficiency in Python, Shell, or Bash. Understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and automation scripts. Comfort using AI coding assistants to accelerate work. Observability & SRE CloudWatch experience. Exposure to logging/monitoring tools (Grafana / ELK / Loki / Prometheus). Awareness of SLIs, SLOs, and incident response practices. CI/CD & DevSecOps Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools. Awareness of pipeline-integrated security scanning (SAST, container scanning). Basic exposure to Azure DevOps is a plus. Data, AI & GenAI Awareness Understanding of data workflows and pipelines. Exposure to cloud-based AI/ML services (AWS / Azure). Basic awareness of GenAI concepts (LLMs, prompts, RAG, vector stores). Interest in AI-driven automation and tooling. Experience: 2+ years of experience in a Cloud / DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure role. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (preferred). AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate) are a plus.
