About the role
As a BIOS Engineer specialized in UEFI Storage and Bootloader, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining UEFI bootloaders and applications, focusing on storage protocols like AHCI, SATA, and NVMe. Your expertise in C language and understanding of x86 architectures will be essential for success. - Key Responsibilities: - Your primary focus will be on x86 BIOS/UEFI development, utilizing your 3-7 years of hands-on experience in this field. - Working with UEFI bootloaders or applications involving UEFI-based storage protocols such as AHCI, SATA, and NVMe is a key responsibility. - You will be required to read platform hardware and processor specifications to comprehend coreboot mainboard porting requirements. - Mandatory Skills: - 3-7 years of hands-on experience in x86 BIOS/UEFI development. - Proficiency in C language. - Familiarity with at least one BIOS codebase (AMI, Insyde, or Phoenix BIOS). - Experience with UEFI bootloaders or applications involving UEFI-based storage protocols. - Good understanding of UEFI framework concepts and Storage protocols. - Experience with x86 CPU/APU architectures and their associated compilation tools. - Additional Skillset (Good to Have): - Working knowledge of Git for code reviews, source code management, and BIOS releases to QA. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and cater to custom BIOS requirements from different teams. - Good understanding of industry-standard protocols like SATA, NVMe, AHCI, PCIe, SPI, eSPI, etc. - Proficiency in specifications like ACPI, SMM. - Sound knowledge of x86-64 architecture from a BIOS developer's perspective. - Comprehensive understanding of UEFI BIOS Boot flow. - Experience with Android UEFI based Bootloader for x86 is a plus. You are required to hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from a reputed college, and a Master's degree from a renowned university would be a significant advantage. Please note that this is a Full-Time, Permanent position with a Regular working mode. The notice period for this role is Immediate - 15 Days.
