Senior Netbackup Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior NetBackup Engineer to join our global IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Veritas NetBackup environments, ensuring data protection and recovery across enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and manage enterprise-grade Veritas NetBackup solutions. Monitor backup performance and troubleshoot backup/restore failures. Develop and implement backup strategies, retention policies, and disaster recovery plans. Perform capacity planning, system upgrades, patch management, and tuning of backup environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Storage, Network, Virtualization, etc.) to ensure seamless data protection. Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations regarding data security and backup procedures. Document architecture, configurations, procedures, and provide regular reporting. Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance. Requirements: Minimum 6+ years of experience in enterprise backup and recovery systems, with a focus on Veritas NetBackup. Hands-on experience with NetBackup 9.x/10.x versions. Expertise in managing backup for Windows, Linux, VMware, Oracle, and SQL environments. Experience with cloud backup integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a strong plus. Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Familiarity with tape libraries, disk-based backup appliances (e.g., Data Domain, ExaGrid). Knowledge of scripting (Shell, PowerShell, or Python) for automation. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Veritas Certified Specialist (VCS) certification is a plus. Work Schedule: Full-time, remote (India-based) Willingness to work in EST or overlap with U.S. business hours when needed.
