Robotics Design Engineer Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India Experience: 38 Years Department: Research & Development We are looking for a passionate Robotics Design Engineer to join our growing R&D team and contribute to the development of next-generation robotic technologies for surgical imaging and image-guided medical procedures. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of robotics, precision engineering, computer vision, AI, and medical technology. You will be involved in the complete product development lifecyclefrom concept and design to prototyping, testing, and commercialization. Key Responsibilities Design and develop precision robotic and electromechanical systems.Develop robotic mechanisms, articulated arms, positioning systems, and motion platforms.Create detailed mechanical designs and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent CAD software.Perform kinematic, dynamic, and tolerance analysis to optimize robotic performance.Conduct structural and thermal simulations using FEA tools such as ANSYS.Select and integrate motors, gearboxes, bearings, actuators, encoders, and other motion control components.Build, assemble, and evaluate engineering prototypes.Collaborate with electronics, embedded software, controls, AI, and computer vision teams to develop integrated robotic solutions.Prepare engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and validation reports.Participate in design reviews and support product verification and validation activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related discipline.38 years of experience in robotics, automation, precision machinery, or medical device product development.Strong understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, mechanism design, motion control, and precision engineering.Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS.Good understanding of servo systems, BLDC motors, harmonic drives, linear motion systems, and precision mechanical components.Experience in prototype development and product testing. Preferred Skills Experience with ROS/ROS2.Programming knowledge in Python or C .Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.Exposure to computer vision or AI-based robotic systems.Knowledge of ISO 13485 and regulated product development is an advantage.
