About the role
A Civil Design Engineer designs the civil and structural components of substations, including buildings, foundations, site grading, and underground utilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Design and Analysis: Develop civil and structural design of RCC & Steel structures for substation buildings & equipments including precast and cast-in-situ components of Lattice structures. Design and analyze structural systems for cable tunnels, trenches, duct banks, manholes, and underground utilities. Design foundations for outdoor equipment like surge arresters, power transformers, static VAR generators (SVG) and design calculation of Lattice structure for equipments. Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and documentation for substation projects and BBS, BOM preparation. Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, other disciplines, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and safe solutions. Coordinate with site execution teams to address any design-related issues. Project Management: Create civil-structural project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects. Review designs and drawings, and provide technical clarifications. Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles. Be familiar with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations. Have experience with CAD software and other design tools. Software Knowledge: AutoCAD, Stud Pro, ETAB Other Tasks: Collect project details from clients and vendors. Review and approve vendor drawings and specifications.
