Title and Summary Lead Software Engineer - Github, Java GO, Springboot, Cloud, Kubernetes, JenkinsOverviewThe Mastercard Software Builders Experience (MSBX) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer We are part of Mastercards Team ONE (Operations, Network and Employee Digital Experience) empowering 6000+ Engineers around the globe We are responsible for creating a great developer experience enabling engineering teams to deliver innovative payment solutions for hundreds of millions of customers We build and operate a holistic set of services and tooling for: Cloud agnostic Declarative provisioning of infrastructure and application resources Standard CI/CD Pipelines, Developer Tooling Environments Application Frameworks BootstrappingOur services enable Mastercard engineering teams to focus on delivering business value from ideation to market The ideal candidate will help Mastercard developers efficiently build, test, and deliver secure, quality code Role This role involves working with a team of talented developers to develop high performance, high volume solutions You will be responsible for:Design and implement microservice capabilities for the Program in Java, Go and/or PythonDevelop high-quality, secure, scalable and maintainable software solutions Apply best practices for automated testing, automated code quality, automated delivery automated monitoring Mentor the senior junior engineers on your team through sound technical advice, UML documentation code reviews Collaborate with Architects, Leads, Developers Product Owners to ensure business value is delivered in a timely manner Advocating Mastercard Engineering Principles, BuildersEnablement development standards, and Corporate Security guidelines Be the SME for one or more initiatives to deliver an efficient and secure SDLC in Mastercard from the initial ideation to production deploymentWork as part of a cross-functional and geographically distributed team to make our developer experience awesomeEnsure that Developer Experience is central to everything we do Ensure that the team adheres to Mastercard Engineering Principles, Builders Enablement Development standards, and Corporate Security guidelinesActively participate as a member of the Software Engineering Guild sharing your knowledge, best practices, ideas, and passion for technologyAbout youSkillsProficiency in OOP/OOAD with Java JDK 8 or higher Proficiency in Go and/or Python is a plus Knowledge of Tomcat, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate, REST microservices architecture Experience with SQL, Multi-threading, Message Queuing Distributed Systems Experience with Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Patterns Experience with one or more Cloud platforms with a good working knowledge of availability zones, regions, security, Cloud APIs, virtual networking, and the capabilities and offerings of the various providers (e g , Azure, AWS, and GCP) Expertise in Junit or other automated unit testing frameworksKnowledge of Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus or other alerting and monitoring solutionsFluent in the use of Git, JenkinsAbility to define implement best practices regarding Continuous Delivery / Deployment pipelines Good working knowledge of container technologiesExperience working in a regulated environment with secure software development practices (e g , PCI DSS, GDPR) Experience in performance testing with JMeter, Gatling and similar toolsExperience with building upon and contributing to innersource projects (e g CI/CD, Shared libraries)Experience automating processes to improve developer efficiencyDevSecOps/CI-CD, Site Reliability experience for distributed systems is an advantageOtherMust be self-motivated and a team-player operating in a high performance environmentEducationBachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical or an equivalent Engineering stream
