About the role
Title and Summary Senior Software Engineer- 2 Overvi ew The Network Automation organization builds the software and automation capabilities that improve reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency across Mastercard's global netwo rk. You'll join a collaborative, high‑trust engineering team that values clear thinking, shared ownership, and practical innovation. Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you will: * Design and implement scalable backend services and automation capabilities that support network lifecycle and security wor kflows.* Write high‑quality, maintainable, secure code using modern engineering practices (automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, document ation).* Build API‑driven integrations between internal platforms and network s ystems.* Develop observability foundations—including metrics, health checks, structured logs, and actionable alerts—to ensure system relia bility.* Contribute to architectural decisions, automation patterns, and engineering roadmaps for the Network Automation organi zation.* Collaborate across teams to translate requirements into durable, automated solutions that improve operational resi lience.* Participate in operational readiness activities including runbooks, process documentation, and an on‑call rotation where re quired. All A bout You Required quali fications * Strong experience developing backend services using one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, C#, Python, o r similar.* Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and service‑oriented arc hitecture.* Hands‑on experience with Ansible (or equivalent automation tooling such as Terraform, Puppet, or Chef).* Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version contro l systems.* Experience building secure, resilient, and highly maintainable software.* Ability to break down complex problems, lead design discussions, and influence arc hitecture.* Demonstrated collaboration with engineering, operations, and secur ity teams.
