About the role
As a PDE Manager at Mattel, you will play a crucial role in product development, interacting with both internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and managing a team of 45 engineers, providing direction, feedback, and coaching - Supporting employee development through training and regular conversations - Acting as the team's Digital Mentor to drive adoption of digital tools and best practices - Constructing toy prototypes using tools like SolidWorks or CREO - Building rapid prototypes to validate design intent and functionality - Optimizing toy performance by modeling improvements and modifying existing items - Collaborating cross-functionally to review product costs and explore cost reduction opportunities - Ensuring program milestones and deadlines are met by attending reviews and development activities - Partnering with quality teams to evaluate product performance and compliance - Developing and reviewing functional specifications for products Qualifications: - Minimum 10 years of experience in Product Engineering or a related field - 35 years of people management experience - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management tools, Excel, and PowerPoint - Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities - Comfortable presenting to senior executives and providing constructive feedback - Willingness to travel between Belagavi and Hosur 5060% annually At Mattel, inclusivity is a core value.
