About the role
About MAVR MAVR is a bootstrapped technology startup building a digital ecosystem for athletes, trainers, gyms, and fitness businesses. We are working on real operational problems in the fitness industry, including gym management, member onboarding, verified professional profiles, subscriptions, payments, and connected fitness experiences. We are currently at an early stage and are looking for a committed Technical Co-Founder who wants to build the company from the ground up. Important: Please Read Before Applying This is an equity-based co-founder opportunity, not a salaried employee position. There will be no fixed salary initially while the company is bootstrapped. Mutually agreed equity, subject to vesting, milestones, and formal legal agreements. Please apply only when you: Understand the risks and responsibilities of joining an early-stage startup. Can commit to MAVR for the long term. Are comfortable working without an initial salary. Want to build a company, not simply complete assigned development tasks. Can take ownership of technology, product execution, and technical decision-making. Your Responsibilities As Technical Co-Founder, you will: Define and lead MAVRs technical architecture and development roadmap. Build and launch the MVP alongside the founding team. Make decisions regarding the technology stack, infrastructure, APIs, databases, security, and scalability. Develop reliable web and mobile products for athletes, trainers, and gym partners. Implement secure authentication, verification, subscription, payment, and data-management systems. Recruit and manage future developers and technical contributors. Convert product requirements into practical technical solutions. Maintain code quality, documentation, testing, security, and deployment processes. Participate in product strategy, business planning, partnerships, and fundraising discussions. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with: Strong full-stack development experience. Experience building scalable SaaS platforms, mobile applications, or marketplaces. Knowledge of backend development, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and application security. Experience with technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Flutter, React Native, PostgreSQL, AWS, GCP, or similar tools. A strong understanding of product development and MVP execution. The ability to work independently and make technical decisions. Leadership, ownership, problem-solving ability, and a genuine founder mindset. Interest in fitness technology, health technology, SaaS, or consumer platforms. Previous startup or CTO experience is valuable but not mandatory. Solid execution, ownership, technical ability, and long-term alignment matter more than titles. What You Will Receive Meaningful equity ownership in MAVR. A core position within the founding team.
