Assistant Manager/Team Lead

Position: Assistant Manager/Team Lead Engineering and NPD Location: MBV Aerospace Pvt Ltd, Hootagalli Industrial Area, Mysore Department: Design and Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our Engineering/Design team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Sheetmetal mechanical design, Assemblies, Precision machining components and familiarity with industry-standard design tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and AutoCAD. You will work along with the team to develop and refine designs, conduct analyses, and contribute to the creation of high-quality Engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities: Assist in creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Support in designing, drafting, and modifying mechanical components and assemblies. Perform basic simulations and analyses to validate design integrity and functionality. Collaborate with the team to develop innovative solutions and ensure design specifications meet project requirements. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate communication of design details. Maintain documentation as per AS9100 of designs, modifications, and updates. Study customer drawings and perform manufacturing process analysis as per the specified standards. Prepare/Validate cost estimations and final customer quotations. Generate Raw Material (RM) BOM and Bought-Out Item (BOI) enquiries based on drawings. Create 3D models in SolidWorks and 2D manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD. Prepare laser cutting programs and optimize nesting for material utilization. Conduct CFT reviews, finalize cost estimations, and obtain CFT approvals. Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned customer projects. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in compliance with AS9100 requirements. Support engineering changes, technical clarifications, and continuous process improvements. Qualification & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related degree. Technical Skills: Knowledge and basic proficiency in design tools, including SolidWorks, CATIA NX, and AutoCAD. Thorough knowledge on GD&Ts. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members. Passion for Learning: Eagerness to learn and adapt to new design tools and methodologies.
