Business Intelligence and Reporting

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support and enhance our Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting ecosystem . This role will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing existing Cognos reports, gathering and analyzing business requirements, and supporting the implementation of future reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver accurate, meaningful, and actionable reporting solutions. Key Responsibilities Support, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing IBM Cognos reports and reporting environments. Gather, document, analyze, and validate business and reporting requirements from stakeholders. Translate business needs into functional specifications and reporting solutions. Compile, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, patterns, and business insights. Develop and maintain reporting documentation, data definitions, and business rules. Collaborate with business users, data engineers, developers, and project teams to ensure reporting requirements are accurately implemented. Perform data validation, report testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Support report migration, upgrades, and transitions to new reporting and analytics platforms. Participate in the evaluation, design, and implementation of future BI and reporting tools. Create dashboards, ad hoc reports, and analytical solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making. Provide user support, training, and guidance on reporting tools and analytics solutions. Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and overall BI capabilities. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or similar role focused on analytics and reporting. Minimum 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry , including healthcare services, healthcare operations, PBM, payer, provider, or related healthcare environments. Experience supporting and maintaining IBM Cognos reporting solutions. Strong experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and reporting requirements. Experience analyzing large datasets and transforming data into meaningful business insights. Strong understanding of data modeling, reporting, and business intelligence concepts. Proficiency in SQL and relational databases. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Data Mapping and ETL Awareness Confluence for Documentation and Jira for project tracking Process Modeling and Workflow Documentation Experience in UAT and Business Signoff Coordination Preferred Qualifications Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Fabric, or similar reporting tools. Experience supporting reporting modernization or migration initiatives. Knowledge of healthcare data, claims, member, provider, clinical, or operational reporting. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience creating dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting solutions.
