About the role
You will be responsible for authoring original math questions that test deep conceptual understanding. You must ensure that the questions are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined. It is important to rate each question's difficulty level as Medium (intro undergraduate), Hard (advanced undergraduate), or Expert (post-graduate and above). Additionally, you will provide 1 correct answer and 9 plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives to challenge expert-level solvers. Your tasks will include writing step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions with clear, concise intermediate steps in markdown format. It is required to supply 15 academic references per question from reputable sources such as peer-reviewed journals and university repositories. You will also be responsible for flagging issues with clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability during verification tasks and justifying any edits made. Qualifications: - Must-Have: - PhD or doctoral candidate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field. - Master's degree considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain. - Strong command of graduate-level mathematical concepts and formal proof writing. - Excellent written English and ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely. - Preferred: - Experience with rigorous academic problem design or mathematical competition writing is a strong plus.
