About the role
We are looking for Network Security Engineers to protect our clients network from internal and external threats. Your role will be to assist in the planning, design, troubleshooting and management of networks including the software and hardware upgrades across the entire assets. This will involve both routine upgrades in line with vendor release cycles and emergency patching in response to threat intelligence alerts. Key Responsibilities Prepare upgrades to the most recent/stable software and/or firmware versions on both virtual and physical network devices across a range of vendors, including but not limited to Cisco, Juniper, Check Point and Fortinet. Analyse device configurations to understand the potential impact of new software versions and plan the appropriate remedial action. Minimise active network vulnerabilities by managing patching in line with vendor release cycles. Ensure all Change activity is carried out as in Change Control process and client communications are issued in an informative and timely and thorough fashion. Respond to critical network vulnerabilities, working with other teams to deploy the appropriate level of resource to ensure our clients are protected. Execute client device upgrades during agreed maintenance windows both during and outside of business hours. Essentially this is 8 hours job on normal business hours Monday to Friday. On special conditions, this role may require Monday to Sunday out of hours and on call working where necessary. Person Specification Any degree in Computer Science or similar discipline / proven equivalent working experience Current CCNA, JNCIA or CCSA qualification or be able to demonstrate a similar level of knowledge Desirable to have Comp TIA Security+ certification or equivalent working experience Must have 2+ years of working experience, but not limited to broad range of technologies including routers in datacentre IT support environment. Experience of working in relevant client facing environments or communication.
