About the role
As a Battery and Cell Testing Engineer in an Electric Vehicle (EV) testing lab, you will play a crucial role in the development and validation of battery technologies for electric vehicles. This position requires a seasoned engineer with a strong background in electrical and electronic systems, along with extensive experience in operating and managing cell cyclers and battery cyclers. Key Responsibilities: 1. Cell and Battery Testing: Conduct rigorous testing of battery cells and packs using advanced testing equipment, including cell cyclers and battery cyclers. 2. Test Plan Development: Collaborate with Customer, research, and development teams to create comprehensive test plans for various battery technologies, ensuring all relevant parameters are considered. 3. Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate and maintain cell cyclers, battery cyclers, and other testing equipment. Troubleshoot and address any technical issues that may arise during testing. 4. Data Analysis: Collect, analyse, and interpret data from cell and battery tests. Provide insights and recommendations based on test results to improve the performance and reliability of battery systems. 5. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols during testing processes. Ensure that all testing procedures adhere to industry standards and safety regulations. 6. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, results, and any modifications made during the testing process. Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders. 7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, materials scientists, and design engineers, to integrate testing activities into the overall product development process. 8. Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in battery technologies, testing methodologies, and industry standards. Propose and implement improvements to testing processes.
