What We're Looking For
- Michael Baker International is seeking a talented Drainage/Stormwater Engineer to join our busy Columbia, SC office. This Engineer will have exposure to a wide range of interesting applications under the supervision of experts and leaders in the Water industry.
What You'll Do

Prepare construction plans and specifications

Stormwater design for projects including both bid-build and design-build projects

Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system analysis, and sediment and erosion control design

Perform hydrologic & hydraulic studies using software such as GEOPAK Drainage, HY-8, and HEC-RAS
-
Prepare cost-estimates and technical reports

Coordinate permitting efforts with various stormwater agencies

Train/mentor junior engineers and technicians

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field

Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in stormwater design/analysis
-
Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina, OR eligibility to obtain license within 6-12 months
-
Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK Drainage
-
Experience with ArcGIS
-
SCDOT experience
-
Experience with HEC-RAS, SMS, SRH-2D, and SWMM
-
Experience with OpenRoads Designer
Compensation
The approximate compensation range for this position is $102k - $120k per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
