As a Principal Engineering Manager at Microsoft, you will be part of the OSSE team in the OPG group, focusing on building client experiences and services that enhance Microsoft Account experiences across all devices and platforms. Your role is crucial in creating delightful and inclusive account experiences that empower customers to make the most out of Microsoft products. Key Responsibilities: - Define strategy, design products, and establish a team from scratch. - Provide clarity, motivation, and drive results by setting a vision and delivering for customers. - Coach, mentor, and support the engineers in your team. - Plan and prioritize work for the team, collaborating with partner organizations. - Foster an inclusive environment to attract and retain high-performing engineers. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user requirements and drive product roadmap. - Lead the research, design, and optimization of shared experiences across the Office suite. - Design and implement core libraries used by the entire suite, such as Fluent UI components. - Utilize AI to enhance engineering velocity and develop AI-powered features. - Work closely with Product Management and Design disciplines across the Office web ecosystem. Qualifications: Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of technical engineering experience. - Proficiency in coding languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. - Software development experience in C#, C++, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages. - 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager with a focus on coaching and mentoring. - Full-stack Web development skills including front-end development with JavaScript/Typescript and HTML5. - Experience in building and shipping production-grade software. - Expertise in leveraging AI for engineering processes and products. - Track record of delivering high-quality products on time. - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration. Preferred: - Deep expertise in web frameworks like React.js and FluentUI. - Experience with browser development tools and performance profiling. - Familiarity with Azure Cloud and ADO (Azure DevOps) pipeline is a plus.
