About the role
Role Description Mimica is growing fast, and so is the demand on our Platform Team. As a DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will join a lean but highly capable team that is the backbone of every engineering squad in the company. Service the entire engineering organization: keeping environments healthy, unblocking teams, and building the infrastructure that lets everyone else move faster. Take on ambitious infrastructure projects: expanding to multi-region and single-tenancy environments, supporting BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) deployments, migrating our IaC from Terraform to Crossplane, and focusing on FinOps. Work varies from debugging RBAC issues in production to designing multi-cloud access patterns from scratch. Looking for engineers with either an application development or a systems/infrastructure background. Hands-on comfort with Kubernetes, IaC, and cloud platforms is essential. Collaborate closely with other engineering teams. Qualifications Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes, particularly on GKE (preferred), EKS, OnPrem, or another managed Kubernetes service. Proven experience with Terraform as your primary IaC tool; familiarity with Terragrunt is a plus. IAM and identity management experience on at least one major hyperscaler: GCP (preferred) or AWS. Experience with ArgoCD or a comparable GitOps tool for continuous delivery. Observability experience with at least one major platform: Honeycomb, Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic. Comfortable writing code, particularly Python, to automate platform tasks and build internal tooling. Background in startups or scale-ups: used to ambiguity, moving fast, and wearing multiple hats. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience leading and participating in incident responses. Requirements Investigate and triage issues in existing applications, observe database and system component health, and implement changes to support the SDLC of other teams. Contribute to migrating our IaC layer from Terraform to Crossplane and support expansion into multi-region clusters and single-tenancy environments. Drive FinOps initiatives for visibility and control over cloud spend across multiple accounts and environments. Help design and implement access patterns for new BYOC and single-tenancy environments. Instrument, monitor, and improve observability across our stack using tools such as Honeycomb and Grafana. Benefits Generous compensation + stock options - aligned with our internal framework, market data, and individual skills. Distributed work: Work from anywhere - fully remote, in our hubs, or a mix. Company-issued laptop, remote setup stipend, and co-working budget. Flexible schedules and location. Ample paid time off, in addition to local public holidays. Enhanced parental leave. Health & retirement benefits. Annual learning & development budget. Annual workaways and regular virtual & in-person socials. Opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects that shape the future of work. Hiring Process Recruiter Screen (3045 min): A conversation with our Talent Partner to explore your background, motivations, and culture fit. Live Technical Challenge: Triage & Debug (1 h): A hands-on live challenge with the Hiring Manager and a member of the team. System Design Interview (1h): A live session focused on infrastructure design. Behavioural Interview (60 min): A deeper conversation with the Engineering Manager for Platform and our Co-founder & CTO. Offer & Identity Verification.
