About the role
Role Overview As an RF/Baseband Engineer at Mirabilis Design, you will contribute to building accurate, high-fidelity models of components used in the design of radar, wireless communication, tracking, jamming, and defense systems. You will work closely with our modeling, simulation, and product engineering teams to: Translate radar/communication specifications into executable system models Validate RF/baseband algorithms for performance, timing, and functional correctness Work on advanced defense-grade architectures (radars, seekers, EW systems) Help map physical-layer behavior into the modeling pipelines This is a hybrid technical role combining RF/Communications theory , algorithm understanding , and software modeling . Interns and recent graduates demonstrating strong fundamentals and project experience are also encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities 1. System Modeling Specification Interpretation Analyze radar, jammer, EW, tracking, and communication specifications Identify key parameters: waveform, modulation, filtering, propagation, antenna behavior Convert algorithmic descriptions into VisualSim behavioral blocks 2. RF/Baseband Algorithm Development Model components such as mixers, PLLs, ADC/DAC stages, beamforming units, FFT/IFFT, channel filters Develop performance metrics: SNR, BER, latency, tracking accuracy 3. Software Implementation Implement algorithms or utilities in Java Assist in integrating models into VisualSim s libraries Debug, optimize, and validate model behavior Required Qualifications Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of RF/Baseband theory, including: Modulation schemes Digital/analog filtering Signal processing RF front-end concepts Channel modeling Understanding of radar or EW system fundamentals Experience in at least one programming language: C++ Java Education Bachelor s or Master s in: Electrical Engineering Electronics Communication RF/Microwave Engineering Defense/Avionics specialization Or similar disciplines Preferred Qualifications Not mandatory, but a strong advantage: Experience working on: Radar signal processing Tracking systems and target modeling Jammers / EW systems Wireless PHY layers Internship or research in defense, aerospace, or communication systems Experience with MATLAB, GNU Radio, STK, or simulation tools Experience with system-level modeling or architecture simulation
