About the role
As a Power BI Architect at Mizuho, you will be responsible for designing, governing, and delivering enterprise-scale analytics solutions with a focus on Power BI architecture and semantic modeling, integrating closely with the Snowflake data platform. Your collaboration with Finance IT, IT Data, and Finance business stakeholders will ensure the delivery of governed, high-performance analytics across various platforms like Snowflake, OneStream, SAP, Databricks, and SQL Server. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and lead end-to-end Power BI solutions, encompassing datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reports - Design scalable and reusable Power BI semantic layers aligned with enterprise data standards - Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, and security - Own Power BI tenant governance, including workspace strategy, deployment pipelines, and capacity management - Support self-service BI while upholding enterprise-grade governance and data integrity Snowflake Data Platform Integration: - Architect Power BI-Snowflake integrations using DirectQuery, Import, and hybrid models - Collaborate with data engineering teams to design analytics-optimized Snowflake data models - Optimize Power BI query performance leveraging Snowflake SQL, virtual warehouses, and cost-management strategies - Ensure secure access patterns using RBAC, views, masking, and row-level security between Snowflake and Power BI - Guide data ingestion and transformation patterns supporting analytics use cases Enterprise System Integrations: - Design and support integration with OneStream, SAP, and Databricks - Translate complex financial and operational data structures into analytics-friendly models - Ensure consistent metric definitions between source systems and Power BI semantic models Data Governance & Security: - Implement row-level and object-level security across Power BI datasets - Align BI solutions with enterprise data governance, audit, and compliance requirements - Define certification and promotion standards for datasets and reports - Act as a technical lead and mentor for Power BI developers and analysts As part of Mizuho Global Services (MGS) in Pune, you will play a crucial role in supporting Mizuho's international businesses by delivering high-quality services across multiple functions.
