Job Title : Mechanical Pipestress Design

Experience : 7 to 10 Years

Location : Bengaluru

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform piping stress and flexibility analysis using CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.

Execute advanced engineering assessments and special studies for complex piping systems, supports, and equipment interactions.

Evaluate piping systems for thermal expansion, sustained loads, occasional loads, and equipment interface suitability.

Apply mechanical engineering principles such as fracture mechanics, fatigue, buckling, creep, and material mechanics to assess system integrity and remaining life.

Design and optimize piping support systems including springs, guides, anchors, and special supports.

Assess piping loads on connected equipment and ensure compliance with allowable nozzle load limits.

Support brownfield modifications, tie-ins, rerouting activities, and facility upgrades with practical engineering solutions.

Prepare and review stress analysis reports, support markups, nozzle load summaries, and technical documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable piping codes, engineering standards, and safety requirements.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Requisites

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Strong knowledge of piping stress analysis and flexibility engineering.

Hands-on experience with CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software.

Good understanding of ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and ASME PCC-2 standards.

Knowledge of thermal expansion analysis, equipment nozzle load evaluation, and piping support design.

Experience in refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial facility projects.

Familiarity with brownfield engineering, tie-ins, rerouting, and plant modification projects.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prepare detailed engineering reports and technical documentation.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Strong focus on safety, quality, and engineering compliance.
