The SAP HCM Benefits Configuration Consultant leads endtoend configuration of Benefits Administration in support of Canada Payroll & Benefits and union/collective agreement rules. The role designs eligibility and waiting period logic, enrolment date determination, and planspecific rules across EHCP, Dental, Hearing & Vision, DI, and Life. It builds and governs PA40 personnel actions and dynamic actions/business rules (AACT) to manage hire, status change, deferred status change, and rehire scenarios. The consultant configures NA@W/leave treatments (LOA, STDP, IOD, GRTW), validates downstream impacts to Time, Payroll, and reporting, and supports SIT/UAT and production troubleshooting. Documentation, audit/change tracking, and knowledge transfer to business/HR users round out the responsibilities. Required Qualifications 5-12 years of handson SAP HCM Benefits Administration experience Strong knowledge of Personnel Administration and benefits infotypes: IT0041, IT0167, IT0168, IT0169 Proven configuration of eligibility, waiting periods, and enrolment logic tied to collective agreements/union rules Experience designing/modifying PA40 personnel actions and dynamic actions/business rules (AACT) Understanding of Not Actively at Work (NA@W) scenarios (LOA, STDP, IOD, GRTW) and benefits/payroll impact Ability to translate collective agreement/legal language into functional and technical configuration SIT/UAT support experience and production support for benefits processes Fluent clientfacing communication and stakeholder management SAP HCM Professional Certification (mandatory) Knowledge of Canada Payroll & Benefits processes and downstream payroll impacts Familiarity with audit logging and change tracking (PCL4) (preferred) Experience with retroactive payroll implications from eligibility changes (preferred) S/4HANA experience and Business Partner (BP) concepts (preferred) Experience in postal/logistics/unionized environments (preferred) Proficiency with HRBEN transactions (HRBEN0071, HRBEN0072) and benefits change reporting (e.g., BEN_CHG_REPORT) Responsibilities Configure SAP HCM Benefits Administration including eligibility/waiting period logic and enrolment date rules across EHCP, Dental, Vision/Hearing, DI, and Life plans Set up and maintain benefits infotypes IT0041, IT0167, IT0168, IT0169 and related schema/tables Design and configure PA40 personnel actions (e.g., Benefit Waiting Period actions) for hire, status change, deferred status change, and rehire scenarios Build AACT/dynamic actions and business rules to enforce validations (enrol vs eligible date, NA@W edits) and log changes Configure leave and NA@W treatments for LOA, STDP, IOD, and GRTW, distinguishing legislated vs nonlegislated impacts and reenrolment on return Ensure integration and downstream data flow to Time, Canada Payroll, and reporting, including BEN_CHG_REPORT Validate and troubleshoot using HRBEN transactions (HRBEN0071, HRBEN0072) and support production/test data issues Plan and execute SIT/UAT, author test scenarios, and drive defect resolution Document configuration decisions, change history, and audit requirements (including PCL4) Deliver knowledge transfer and enduser training on new processes and transactions The SAP HCM Benefits Configuration Consultant leads endtoend configuration of Benefits Administration in support of Canada Payroll & Benefits and union/collective agreement rules.
