About the role
Design die-casting dies, molds, and tooling using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD). Develop parting lines, runner systems, gates, vents, overflow wells, and cooling channels. Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing. Knowledge of product design, manufacturing, CNC/VMC machining. Review customer part designs for manufacturability (DFM) and recommend improvements. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and GD&T requirements. Support die trials, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities. Prepare and maintain design documentation, BOMs Required Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or a related field. 24 years of experience in die-casting die design (experience level may vary by role). Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, or AutoCAD. Knowledge of GDC / LPDC) processes. Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of CNC machining, EDM, heat treatment, and tool steels. Required Skills Strong 3D modeling and technical drawing skills. Understanding of die-casting tooling design principles. Project management and time management skills. Preferred Experience Experience designing aluminum die-casting molds (GDC and LPDC). Exposure to automotive, electrical, or consumer products industries.
