About the role
As an Assc Analytics & Model Analyst at Moody's, you will be joining the Data Analytics and Solutions team in the Model Development group. Your role will involve working in a multidisciplinary environment with other catastrophe data and risk modelers across different time zones, engaged in developing products for catastrophe risk modeling, Property & Casualty data quality assessment, and enhancement. You will be expected to acquire data from various sources, interpret data using statistical techniques, identify process improvement opportunities, and present findings to the development team. Your responsibilities will include: - Acquiring data from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources - Interpreting data and analyzing results using statistical techniques - Identifying new process improvement opportunities and quality enhancement areas - Presenting findings, preparing technical reports, and making recommendations - Writing specifications for process automation - Conducting product reviews and communicating findings to the development team - Researching socio-economic and engineering information related to insured properties - Researching the current market for similar products and conducting comparisons Qualifications Required: - Tech./ M. Tech in any field or Postgraduate in fields including Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, and Statistics with 1-2 years of experience - Strong data analysis and interpretation skills - Working knowledge and experience in 'R' or Python - Ability to write basic SQL queries for data retrieval - Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced knowledge such as using pivots and external data - Strong documentation skills with experience in MS Word and PowerPoint - Excellent written and verbal communication skills Other Skills: - Detail-oriented, self-driven quick learner with strong analytical, database, and data manipulation skills - A team player with high self-motivation requiring minimum supervision By being a part of Moody's, you will contribute to a diverse and inclusive workplace that provides equitable opportunities for all.
