As a Data Scientist in the Fraud Department of Morgan Stanley's CDRR Technology team, you play a critical role in developing data-driven solutions to prevent fraud and reduce the firm's exposure to economic loss. Leveraging innovation in the Technology division, you build connections and capabilities that power the firm, enabling clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of communities. Role Overview: In this Director position, you will manage and optimize the technical environment and end-user experience across various workplace technologies for end-users, ensuring seamless operations and user satisfaction throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities: - Build models to evaluate fraud risk across various scenarios, enhancing detection capabilities and operational efficiency. - Ensure compliance with expanding Model Risk Management requirements, support the modernization agenda, and meet the demands of Wealth Management senior leadership and second-line (ORD) leadership. - Utilize data analytics, traditional machine learning, advanced AI, and horizontal AIML capabilities to address fraud-related challenges effectively. Qualifications Required: - 4+ years of AI/ML development experience - Proficiency in statistical or general-purpose programming languages (Python, R, etc.) for implementing statistics-based analytics - Experience with relational databases or distributed file systems (SQL, Hadoop) and related tools (Hive, Impala, Spark/PySpark, Tableau) - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills for data extraction - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Good to have: - Previous experience in developing analytics to detect anomalous behavior in large datasets - Understanding of fraud and security issues in the banking and finance industry - Experience with data analytics in fraud investigation, Financial Services, payment processing, or similar fields At Morgan Stanley, you can expect to work in an environment where you are supported and empowered alongside the best and brightest minds.
