About the role
Install and configure database management systems (DBMS) Set up database servers and environments Configure storage, memory, and security settings Monitor database performance and health Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades Ensure databases run efficiently without downtime Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, caching, and memory usage. Analyze query execution plans and recommend structural and indexing improvements. Implement access control mechanisms, role-based privileges, and data encryption policies Establish and manage data backup, recovery, and replication strategies (e.g., pgBackRest, RMAN, Data Guard). Work with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated provisioning, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for database environments.
