Backend Software Engineer (Oracle, SQL, & Java)

We handle product, software, and services implementations globally, with a team spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. We work closely with Go-to - Market, Learning Management, Sales, Product Management, IT, and Services to define and implement product offers from Quoting to Fulfillment, ensuring an excellent user experience for customers, partners, resellers, and sales teams. As a Backend Software Engineer, you'll dive deep into database engineering and system integration. Your day-to-day involves designing and optimizing complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts for large-scale Oracle environments, building and maintaining Core Java applications plus RESTful APIs, and leading cross-functional sessions to translate business needs into technical specs. You'll also apply your knowledge of Oracle DB backend concepts to fine-tune performance through indexing and partitioning, uphold RDBMS principles for data integrity and security, and review legacy code to make enhancements. To succeed, you need a Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field, plus at least 4 years of professional experience in database development and backend engineering. Technically, you should have expert-level SQL and PL/SQL with large-scale Oracle DB experience, proficiency in Core Java and REST API development, and a strong grasp of RDBMS fundamentals and relational modeling. Soft skills matter tooexceptional communication skills and a proven track record of working across departments like Product, QA, and Dev. Ops are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with Oracle-specific tools (SQL Developer, Data Pump, AWR reports), familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git, knowledge of cloud-based database services (AWS RDS or OCI), and strong practical knowledge of modern JDKs like Java 21, along with best practices like clean-code and SOLID principles. No travel is required, and no relocation is provided. This is an experienced-level, full-time position.
