Job Description Role: Oracle Jr. DBA - L2 Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore Who are we looking for The Mphasis Oracle DBA team that owns the managed DBA services for this client, has an opening for a Core Oracle Jr. DBA - L2 specialized in Oracle Database Administration. Technical Skills: Hands on experience in Oracle 9i/10g/11g/12c Database Administrator. Experience in troubleshooting database issues Experience in Performance monitoring Experience in executing DDL and DML statements. Experience in regular database maintenance activities, Backup and Recovery Create user / grant privileges / manage access controls Experience in working on UNIX platform is a must Experience in Unix shell scripting. Monitor and schedule jobs using OEM, schedulers Service/Customer orientation/ good communication skills are mandate. Follow Database run Book, Drill books, execution and escalation procedure System DBA and Application DBA Good to have hands on experience in Oracle installation, DB Creation/configuration, performance tuning, DB patching & upgrades. Knowledge & experience on Different Backup methods and backup tools is needed. Experience in identifying top queries, top sessions and Performance Tuning Should have knowledge & experience in Unix command and writing shell scripts Service/Customer orientation/ good communication skills are mandate. Knowledge/experience in mySQL and Postgres database administration is a plus Incident Management. Working Knowledge on BMC tool is added Plus. Should be ready to work in rotating shifts (morning, general and afternoon shifts) Candidate needs to be Good Team Player Process Skills: Performing daily health checks of the Databases Schedule, monitor jobs using OEM, schedulers Monitoring Incidents & Service Requests as well as assign the same to the team members Work on the Incidents & Service Request assigned to the DBA Create and configure new databases Setup Backup configuration Setup Monitoring in OEM Database refreshes from Production to Acceptance/Development environment using Data Pump / RMAN utility Co-ordinate with the infrastructure/application team to get the required information Behavioral Skills : Effective interpersonal, team building and communication skills Ability to collaborate be able to communicate clearly and concisely both to laypeople and peers, be able to follow instructions, make a team stronger for your presence and not weaker. Ability to see the bigger picture and differing perspectives to compromise, to balance competing priorities, and to prioritize the user. Ownership skills.
