Mainframe Developer - Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Mainframe Developer with experience in IDMS, Cobol, ADDSO, and Culprit for a 12+ month contract located in Morton Grove, IL. The mainframe developer must be adept at troubleshooting and ensuring quality control at every stage of management process as well as being able to function independently or as part of a team. IDMS COBOL ADDSO Culprit Exposure to manufacturing preferred. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Develop applications, test, and support production environment using mainframe technologies including but not limited to: COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM and IDMS Participate in meetings and discussions with Functional/Technical Leads to understand the requirements and build out technical designs, programming logic, and workflows Participate in code reviews and ensure the code written complies with the company standards and policies Use industry standard naming conventions, coding standards, problem solving skills and best practices in the SDLC Prepare Requirements and Design documents as needed Write unit tests (document and code) for the application packages Support proper unit testing of artifacts to ensure smooth transition to System Testing and User Acceptance Testing Support Production Operations/Maintenance as necessary Interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner

Qualifications: 10+ years of work experience as a Mainframe Developer
