Senior Pipeline Engineer – Transmission & Distribution Location: Houston, TX Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Compensation: Competitive salary, excellent benefits, travel opportunities (approx. 15%) About the Role We are seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to lead pipeline design activities for transmission and distribution projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels in technical leadership, project execution, and client-facing responsibilities. You will guide project teams through conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction support, and quality assurance—ensuring high‑quality results that meet project goals, budget constraints, and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead pipeline project design from concept through completion, ensuring technical and regulatory compliance. Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid summaries, and procurement recommendations. Review vendor drawings and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and clients. Support schedule development, staffing plans, budgeting, cost estimates, and change management. Apply expert knowledge of pipeline standards, codes, engineering methods, and industry best practices. Perform quality reviews on engineering documents, designs, and construction deliverables. Conduct and oversee field inspections, measurements, technical evaluations, and construction support. Prepare and present technical reports for clients and professional audiences. Build and maintain strong client relationships; support business development and project pursuits. Mentor junior engineers and lead discipline-specific engineering activities. Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards and safety requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) and 7+ years pipeline engineering experience; OR equivalent engineering technology degree + FE exam + 7+ years experience; OR Master’s degree + 6+ years experience. Strong expertise in pipeline design practices, engineering codes, and construction processes. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related engineering software. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lead teams, manage complex deliverables, and coordinate multi‑discipline efforts. PE License preferred.
