Staff Mechanical Engineer – Pipeline & Facilities (Kansas City, MO) Full-Time · Permanent · Competitive Pay & Full Benefits · ~15% Travel Join a high-performing engineering team delivering world‑class designs for natural gas infrastructure projects. This role supports new builds, upgrades, and redevelopment work across compressor stations, meter & regulator stations, and renewable natural gas facilities. About the Role As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate across disciplines to execute mechanical engineering design, analysis, and technical deliverables throughout the full project lifecycle—from initial concept through construction support. Key Responsibilities Design and analysis of mechanical systems for natural gas facilities and pipeline-related projects Mechanical layout and design of stations and facilities, including piping systems and materials Prepare calculations, studies, and technical reports (pipe stress, pressure relief, equipment sizing) Develop P&IDs, piping plans, isometrics, equipment layouts, and bill of materials Select and specify equipment such as compressors, regulators, valves, meters, and relief devices Coordinate with Pipeline, Civil/Structural, Electrical, I&C, Environmental, and other disciplines Review vendor submittals and perform technical bid evaluations Support construction through RFIs, field visits, and as-built documentation Assist with proposals, scopes of work, estimates, and schedules Ensure compliance with ASME, API, CFR, and other applicable codes and standards Participate in client and contractor meetings Support process improvement, standard development, and QA/QC initiatives Contribute to business development and marketing efforts Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications ✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 3+ years mechanical engineering experience — OR Engineering Technology degree + FE/EIT + 3 years experience — OR Master’s in Mechanical Engineering + 2 years experience Preferred skills & experience: Familiarity with ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 520/521, 49 CFR Part 192 Experience with mechanical design tools and engineering software Strong mechanical design fundamentals Excellent communication skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, 3D modeling tools, hydraulic analysis, HVAC analysis programs EIT certification preferred Location & Travel 📍 Kansas City, MO (Onsite) ✈️ Approx. 15% travel Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO) Career growth opportunities within a multidisciplinary engineering environment {"@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","baseSalary":null,"datePosted":"2026-03-20","validThrough":"2027-03-20","description":"Staff Mechanical Engineer – Pipeline & Facilities (Kansas City, MO)

About the Role

Qualifications
