Systems Engineer (Managed Services) Location: Overland Park, KS (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent This is a full‑time Systems Engineer role with a well‑established, highly respected managed services organization known for investing in its people. About the role The Systems Engineer will join the Core Managed Services team, responsible for the overall health, stability, and lifecycle planning of customer infrastructure environments. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role supporting post‑sales managed services engagements across cloud, virtualization, backup, automation, and end‑user computing platforms. Engineers on the Core team own escalated support, meet service level objectives, and serve as trusted technical advisors to assigned customers. The role requires strong technical depth, clear communication, and comfort operating in high‑availability, regulated environments. This position is hybrid after onboarding, with a requirement to be onsite at least three days per week. Candidates must reside in the Kansas City metro area. Key responsibilities • Act as the technical owner and subject matter expert for assigned managed services customers • Lead and participate in recurring customer cadence meetings (biweekly, monthly) • Build, deploy, manage, monitor, and patch enterprise infrastructure solutions • Support virtualized and cloud environments including VMware, Nutanix, Citrix, Azure, and related platforms • Complete escalated Core team tickets while maintaining zero SLO violations • Administer, maintain, and upgrade backup and disaster recovery solutions • Contribute to infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible and Terraform • Proactively assess upcoming platform releases and communicate impact to customers • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and partner with engineering teams on remediation • Maintain uptime, backup integrity, and redundancy strategies • Review and approve change controls and participate in incident response when required • Collaborate closely with service delivery, professional services, account managers, and vendors Required experience • 3+ years of systems engineering experience in managed services or enterprise environments • Hands‑on experience with virtualized and cloud infrastructure (VMware, Nutanix, Citrix, Azure, etc.) • Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting virtualized environments • Experience with RMM tools such as ConnectWise Automate and PowerShell scripting • Strong documentation and process discipline • Working knowledge of enterprise IT processes aligned with ITIL (v3 or v4 preferred) • Solid networking fundamentals • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, customer‑driven environment Certifications One of the following certifications is required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire: • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) • Nutanix Certified Professional – Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP‑MCI) • Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA‑V) • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (AZ‑800 / AZ‑801) Managed services expectations • Participate in an after‑hours on‑call rotation • Be available via phone, email, and Slack for customer and team support • Actively assist teammates in resolving issues as needed • Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement of the team • Maintain professionalism during incidents, escalations, and customer interactions Why this role • Permanent, long‑term opportunity with a stable and growing organization • Strong emphasis on training, certification, and career growth • Exposure to modern infrastructure, automation, and cloud technologies • Collaborative team environment with high technical standards • Competitive compensation and a rich benefits package {"@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","baseSalary":null,"datePosted":"2026-04-13","validThrough":"2027-04-13","description":"Systems Engineer (Managed Services)Location: Overland Park, KS (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)Employment Type: Full‑Time, Permanent
