About the role
As an experienced Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a growing team of Engineers to build and maintain products efficiently. You will guide the team to focus on the right priorities, foster their growth as engineers, and ensure effective management. A solid background in both engineering and management is essential, along with prior experience in leading engineering teams. Responsibilities: - Lead agile development and project planning. - Facilitate technical architecture discussions and ensure quality code delivery. - Collaborate with the engineering team, QA, and Product teams to execute the product roadmap effectively. - Keep all company stakeholders informed about your team's progress. - Coordinate with the Support team to monitor and resolve technical issues promptly. - Assist in shaping and executing the engineering hiring plan, including sourcing, screening, and conducting interviews. - Contribute to implementing efficient engineering processes and policies. - Enhance the release process and manage bug/feature backlogs efficiently. Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing engineering teams. - At least 5 years of professional software development experience. - Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, NodeJs. - Excellent understanding of best practices and coding patterns. - Skilled in reading, writing, shipping, and maintaining software code. - Ability to mentor and coach software developers for their professional growth. - Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team and cross-team interactions. - Good project management abilities to lead, prioritize, and track multiple projects. - Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality work. - Continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends in software development and product domains. - Capable of making quick decisions amidst multiple and sometimes conflicting constraints in a fast-paced and growing organization. - Engineering degree is a requirement, with a preference for B.E. in Computer Science.
